PLANTING CHESTNUTS TREES

Nice Sunday, it was sunny and windy but a perfect day for enjoying the best of spring.

We are very proud of being visited by Mónica Gulías, a flawless woman who spent this day  in the cabin, showing a charmed smile, a lovely chatting... Clever woman who knows to behave accordingly.

In grattitude for her time with us, we gave her the chance of planting a chestnut tree.

We are not planting for the present but for posterity.

Once again, thank you very much for your presence, Mónica, and we do hope to meet you in the near future once more.

                                                    TIMELESS CRAFT

It's a dream come true in  the Cabin. This month we have decided to change the old fire and enjoy a piece of Norway amongst us.

Wood stove made of cast iron, so heavy indeed, over 140 kg but it's a brilliant disguise of dancing flames.

Now we can breath the experience made craft from 1853. We have in our hands the heritage of several generations around the fire.

In the middle of the Cabin there is a spring of joy and emotion, besides a beautiful design from Scandinavia.

We must be proud of a guarantee of resistance, elegance and security.

Fredrikstad, a village where we can have a look at Sweden, is exporting dreams made of iron.

                                     AU REPOS DE LA MONTAGNE

Écrire dans la solitude d'une vielle cabanne avec une cheminée comme témoin, et des rafales qui battent contre des murs et des arbres...c'est une expérience qui coup le souffle.

Aujourd'hui on a profité d'une belle journée des vents.

Á côté du feu on pense avec une liberté differente, si...on écrit un journal qui finalement doit pas voir de la lumière, on peut le jeter sur un feu indompté.

Janvier, pour dire á l'année " Bonjour ". 

Depuis cette cabanne où il y a un endroit pour écrire et sentir de la poésie on vous souhaite á vous tous une belle année 2014.

                                                 DESAYUNO NAVIDEÑO

La Orden de Caballeros y Damas de la Cabaña de Pepe invita estas navidades a un Desayuno Especial.

El próximo 25 de Diciembre al calor de la cocina de leña se podrá participar de un variado  almuerzo maridado con Café Blue Mountain y La Veuve Clicquot.

Productos y materia prima de excelente elección para comenzar un día muy marcado en el calendario.

Maple Syrup, dulces caseros de Garmish, leche ecológica...ingredientes para degustar en un ambiente típicamente invernal.

La nieve ha vuelto, cubre la Cabaña con algo más de siete centímetros, mientras las nubes están ancladas a la torre vijía de la cumbre cercana.

Días enmarcados en fotos de  blanco y verde. Es navidad.

                                    TRABAJOS DE ALTURA

Era necesaria una urgente poda en el haya centenaria al lado de la Cabaña.

Los primeros vientos del otoño hendieron ramas de considerable envergadura,  que rozaron la techumbre y dejaron varias tejas fracturadas.

Un trabajo minuciosamente elaborado y con una gran respuesta en seguridad y fiabilidad.

 

Subirse a 27 metros no es baladí cuando se pende de un ramaje en aparente buen estado de salud.

Una técnica muy depurada de cordadas, fuerza y habilidad. Quien observa desde el suelo, valora la profesionalidad de Iván, un bombero que hace fácil lo difícil y es el resumen de la potencia humana, aplicada con inteligencia a la propia naturaleza.

 

Reconocemos desde estas líneas su gran valía y casta que dejaron para siempre huella en la montaña.

                     SUNDAY LIGHT

At times, in this secluded spot we can see different aspects of nature. In the morning, in the afernoon, in the evening...even at night, there are colours and landscapes at first sight stunning.

Fall is a season of harvest. From here we can get a gorgeous pictures of incredible things. No one is going to care spending a spare time looking at a beautiful moon in the middle of the night, a sunset at 17, 50 in November or a heavy rain running on the grass.

Last Sunday we had a windy day, wind stripped the leaves off the trees meanwhile a shimmering sun, accompanied by a very nice meal outside the cabin, made a lovely day in this 'settlement'.

It was possible to make great photos breathing a pure light and air.

The cabin is an exclusive way of life, a sip of life.

                                                SEPTIEMBRE, UN MES ATÍPICO

Durante este mes que ahora concluye, la predominante meteorológica ha sido la bonanza.

En la estación meteorológica de la Cabaña, se han registrado 32 litros por metro cuadrado durante todo el mes. Cantidad exigua para regenerar los pastos y avivar los manantiales.

Se cumple el adagio del setiembre que seca las fuentes, con temperaturas máximas de 25 y 24 grados, y vientos estos últimos días de intensidad moderada del sur, 67 km/h.

Datos para el apunte en el cuaderno del tiempo, que también incluye la observación de la propia naturaleza.

Y así, los primeros hongos comestibles se han visto en la finca el 5 de setiembre, " bola de nieve ", Agaricus Arvensis, de buen sabor y magnífica textura.

Y no falta a la cita del mes el comienzo de la caída de hojas. El otoño comienza en la montaña y va descendiendo lentamente hasta el mar. Las hayas ya están teñidas de cobre y uno de los abedules ofrece un color cada vez más intenso amarillo limón.
